Partial sun eclipse in Valencia

Last Saturday, March 29th, a partial solar eclipse was observed, a taste of what the coming years have in store: a series of total and annular eclipses that will be visible from the Iberian Peninsula (two of them from Valencia). The student astronomy group from the Burjassot campus and the Observatori Astronòmic set up telescopes on the campus so the public could enjoy this unusual event. As an example, see this image, taken using the simple technique of holding a mobile phone up to the eyepiece of one of the telescope.
